Sakeenah publishes daily Islamic knowledge content and is building a video presence across YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, and Facebook. We need someone to manage our social media pages — publishing content on schedule, writing captions, engaging with the community, and growing our audience.
This role is the bridge between the content we produce and the people who need it. A well-timed post, a thoughtful reply to a comment, a caption that makes someone stop scrolling — these things matter as much as the content itself.
This is a voluntary position for the sake of Allah, with the intention to compensate team members as platform revenue grows.
What you'll do
- Publish the daily video on all assigned platforms on the agreed schedule
- Write the caption for each post — provided with a brief or written independently
- Add relevant hashtags, location tags, and links
- Monitor comments and DMs — respond, pin good comments, flag concerns to the team
- Report weekly on reach, follower growth, and any notable engagement
- Coordinate with the video editor to receive final files on time
- Suggest content ideas, trends, or formats that could increase reach
- Manage the Sakeenah link in bio and ensure the app download link is always current
What we're looking for
- ctive and confident user of TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, and Facebook
- Ability to write engaging captions in English and/or Swahili — concise, clear, authentic
- Organised enough to post consistently on a daily or near-daily schedule
- Understanding of basic platform best practices (hashtags, posting times, Reels vs feed, etc.)
- Ability to respond to comments respectfully and in the spirit of da'wah
- Adab in all online communication — you represent Sakeenah and the deen
- Prior experience managing a page or account is preferred but not required
