Sakeenah produces daily Islamic educational video content presented by our team of volunteer scholars and educators. We need a skilled video editor to transform raw presenter recordings into polished, platform-ready videos that reflect the professionalism and sincerity of the message.
You will work with recordings in MP4 or WebM format and produce finished videos formatted for YouTube (long-form and Shorts), TikTok, and Instagram Reels. The Sakeenah brand is established — dark green, gold, clean typography — and you will apply it consistently across all outputs.
This is a voluntary position for the sake of Allah. As the platform grows and generates platform revenue, it is our intention to begin compensating team members. We are transparent that this will take time.
What you'll do
- Receive raw recordings from presenters on an agreed schedule
- Cut, colour-correct, and clean audio on each recording
- Add Sakeenah lower-thirds, intro/outro cards, and watermark according to brand style
- Add accurate subtitles in the language of the presentation
- Export in all required formats for each platform
- Upload or hand off final files to the social media manager with captions
- Maintain a simple log of completed edits for team records
- Communicate promptly if a recording has quality issues that prevent editing
What we're looking for
- Proficiency in any professional video editing software (DaVinci Resolve, Adobe Premiere, CapCut, or equivalent)
- Ability to produce vertical (9:16), landscape (16:9), and square (1:1) formats from a single recording
- Experience adding subtitles/captions — essential for reach and accessibility
- Reliable computer capable of handling video editing workload
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow brand guidelines
- Ability to meet consistent weekly deadlines
- Knowledge of Islamic content is an advantage — not required but it helps
