Musnad of 'Abdullah bin al-'Abbas bin 'Abdul-Muttalib from the Prophet
It was narrated from Ibn ‘Abbas (رضي الله عنه) that: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: “Jibreel taught me one mode of recitation (harf) and I asked for another one, and I kept on asking for more and he have me more, until it ended with seven modes of recitation.” Az-Zuhri said: These modes of recitation only affect the recitation, they do not change anything with regard to halal and haram.
