Ma'mar narrated Concerning the verse, “And Allah did take Ibraheem (Abraham) as a Khaleel (an intimate friend)" (an-Nisa' 4:125) Abdul-Malik bin 'Umair told me, from Khalid bin Rib'i, from Ibn Mas'ood (رضي الله عنه) that he said: Allah took your companion as a close friend, meaning Muhammad (ﷺ).
