Sahih al-Bukhari 6741

Laws of Inheritance (Al-Faraa'id)

The sisters share the inheritance with the daughters

Narrated Al-Aswad: Mu`adh bin Jabal gave this verdict for us in the lifetime of Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) . One-half of the inheritance is to be given to the daughter and the other half to the sister. Sulaiman said: Mu`adh gave a verdict for us, but he did not mention that it was so in the lifetime of Allah's Messenger.
